Jefferson Global Studies and Humanities Magnet encourages problem solving and creative thinking
In the heart of Minneapolis, surrounded by rich cultural opportunities, Jefferson will transition in the fall of 2021 to a new global studies and humanities magnet school, welcoming students from around the city. Jefferson will be guided by the core principles of positive identity development, culturally responsive curriculum and instruction, and community service opportunities. Students will be challenged to explore and examine the past, present and future through a critical and global lens. The school’s academics and social emotional learning approach will lead students to a broader understanding of self, their community and the world. The global studies and humanities magnet school model promotes service learning, intergenerational collaboration and inquiry-based learning.
