Sheridan Dual Language Magnet leads in language learning
In Fall 2021, Sheridan Dual Language Magnet in the heart of the Sheridan neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis welcomes students from throughout the city. Sheridan students will experience a collaborative learning environment that integrates English and Spanish languages into all subjects. Beginning in Pre-K and Kindergarten, students receive 90% of their instruction in Spanish and 10% of their instruction in English. Instruction in English gradually increases with the English/Spanish ratio culminating at 50/50 in the 5th grade. All students learn to speak, read and write in both languages. Students are encouraged to continue on the Spanish Dual Language program at Andersen United Community School. Sheridan cultivates a caring, diverse community of creative, inclusive, critical thinkers who learn throughout their lives.
