Northeast Middle

Northeast Middle School serves grades 6 - 8 and prides itself on giving its students a well-rounded, diverse, rigorous educational experience.

Nestled in the Audubon Park neighborhood, Northeast Middle School (NEMS) is home to the Nighthawks! Northeast Middle School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) school. Northeast builds upstanding citizens through a rigorous, socially conscious, culturally relevant
curriculum that offers academic and emotional support for students during one of the most challenging times in a student’s life: middle school. Support is possible with the aid of two school counselors, two school social workers, a school psychologist, student deans at each grade level, associate educators for math and social emotional support and a mental health program for students and families. With a focus on self-advocacy and personal responsibility, Northeast staff and students value differences in the school population and in our society. A Northeast education ensures students head to high school with 21st-century skills, able to make practical connections between their studies and the real world.

Minnesota Report Card Data

The Minnesota Report Card is a tool to help inform families and communities about their schools so they can make important decisions and meaningfully engage with schools and educators. However, Minnesota Report Card data only provides a partial snapshot of what the experience may be like at any given school. MPS recommends connecting directly with school leaders and communities through school tours, open houses and other events to gain a fuller understanding of how our schools support students and families.
