Green Central Spanish Dual Language Magnet leads in language learning

Located in the heart of the Central neighborhood of South Minneapolis, Green Central Spanish Dual Language Magnet welcomes students from throughout the city. Students at Green Central will experience a collaborative learning environment that integrates English and Spanish language into all subjects. Beginning in pre-K and kindergarten, students receive 90% of their instruction in Spanish and 10% of their instruction in English. Instruction in English gradually increases with the English/Spanish ratio culminating at 50/50 in grade 5.

All students learn to read, write and speak in both languages.  Students are encouraged to continue in the Spanish Dual Language pathway at Andersen United Community School. As a Full-Service Community School, Green Central offers health support, out-of-school activities, and engagement opportunities for students and families—including the Southside Family Clinic, which provides medical services to families.
